I can’t believe it either. I missed a Currently post last month! Well, here we go!
Warning, lots of fashion and beauty updates below…
CURRENT BOOK
I started reading a few books this month, but the only one that’s stuck has been When Food is Love. It’s by the lovely Geneen Roth, and it’s speaking to me right now.
If you read the post I shared about the love class I took recently, you’ll know that there is a connection there. I’ve been on quite the self-discovery path over the past two months.
CURRENT MUSIC
I’ll let you guess what the music of the month is… and if you know me at ALL, you know already that I’m OBSESSED with the new Kelly Clarkson album. You guys, Meaning of Life came out late last week and it’s the only thing I’ve been listening to ever since. If you haven’t downloaded it yet, it’s time.
Current faves: Don’t Your Pretend, Cruel, Didn’t I, Meaning of Life, and pretty much every single song on that damn thing. Almost excited to work tomorrow so that I can listen all day long again. Go buy it.
CURRENT BEDROOM RENOVATION + A REQUEST FOR HELP!
I finally received my bedroom furniture over the past few months, transforming my room from a place filled with big black furniture to a bright white, mid-century modern environment, with a ridiculously fabulous headboard.
Please excuse the fact that my bed’s not made here, because that’s just life. I want to add a rug to the room, and I have no idea what kind to add. Open to ideas! I don’t want it to compete with the headboard. Let me know if you’ve seen anything cute (and I’ll try to snap a better pic in the morning!) xo
CURRENT NEW STATE VISIT
I marked off a new state this month. I’ve visited most, aside from North Dakota, South Dakota, Alaska, Nebraska, and until two weeks ago, Connecticut! Planning to mark off all on the list before 50 (which means I’ve got a ton of years left!)
Current Recipe Awesomeness
I announced my pick for the winner of the Jenny Craig Simple Inspirations Recipe Contest last week. Did you guys see the post? Click here for the details!
Here’s something in this recipe that is 100% genius: The creator of this recipe, Jessica, blended roasted red pepper and hot sauce to make a super tasty sauce for that cauliflower. Such a great idea… and one I’ll be using in the future.
Current Makeup Find (#1)
Since I’ve started working from home, I spend most days in yoga clothes and without a full face of makeup. I do like a little something so that at the end of the day, I can walk out the door without scaring the nice folks at Target.
This moisturizer is everything! Loaded with SPF 40 and just enough color, it also offers a tremendous amount of moisture.
CURRENT BEAUTY FIND (#2)
I’d been wearing the same eye makeup for as long as I can remember. During a moment of online retail therapy, I decided to order a new palette of eye shadows from Bare Minerals. Maybe it was the shiny gold container, or those pretty, pretty colors… but I had to have it.
It’s official name is the Bare Minerals Ready Eyeshadow 8.0 – The Power Neutrals, if you’re looking to find it. It’s perfect for everyday, and I’ve used every single color on the palette and even played around with a SMOKY eye. Yep, it’s incredible…
CURRENT BEAUTY FIND (#3)
It’s been two months, and YES, I have three beauty finds…. with that, I found the most EPIC mascara. If we flashback to my currently post back in November of last year, you might remember that I bought an imposter mascara that I fell in love with and I haven’t been able to find anything like it ever since. Until now.
I’ve been using Thrive Causemetics’ Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara for the past few months and I AM IN LOVE with it. Not only does it make your lashes incredibly long, but it also is the easiest to remove (literally with warm water). The removal factor is important, because… amongst us girls, I have no idea what they use to make those other mascaras. I CANNOT remove them. Try this stuff, y’all. Life changing.
CURRENT OCEAN SPOTTING
I’ve been EVERYWHERE this past two months. Lots of work travel, and an unbelievable ten day vacation. During the past two months, I’ve seen the Atlantic and the Pacific in that order, and there’s nothing that brings me greater peace than being waterfront. Well, maybe beach meditation… 🙂
CURRENT FAMILY PHOTO FASHION FIND
We did family pics on the beach during our trip to the beach. Initially, my sister in law settled on white and khaki for the colors, but in a last minute change, she opted for navy blue. Thankfully, the dress I had ordered came also in navy. So I ordered it. You guys, it’s from Amazon. Who knew they had dresses?
A friend of mine shared that she bought this dress for her high school reunion, and it was so cute I had to give it a shot! Super cute, here’s the link.
CURRENT TIME WITH FRIENDS
I had the pleasure of seeing some of my favorite ladies these past two months as well. Seriously, September and October spoiled me.
CURRENT OPPORTUNITY TO WEAR ORANGE
I just went to a conference where I wore orange every single day! I’m a huge fan of the color, but I don’t usually wear it every single day. With a massive heatwave coming into Southern California at the same time of our conference, I needed dresses and orange it was.
The left is H&M; the right is JCP. True story: I had a lady stop me one night when I was wearing black and she told me she thought that I just wore orange all the time every day. Awesome.
