Another month has passed… this one being harder than some, yet still having a lot of lovely moments. Read on to hear why.

CURRENT GOODBYE

On November 8, we lost the patriarch in our family. My dear grandfather lost his fight to Alzheimer’s after a few tough years. To say I adored him is a complete understatement. He is missed terribly in this world, but I know he’s whistling as he walks hand in hand with his best girl, laughing that hearty laugh we all loved so much.

CURRENT FAMILY FIND

After the funeral, my brother, sister-in-law, and I headed downtown to find my grandpa’s memorial brick. A proud Navy man (as pictured above), I loved finding this block on the wall – – a tribute to his service on the USS Saratoga.

CURRENT HEALTHY AIRPORT FOOD FIND

I spent 5 days in Ohio with my family this month celebrating my grandfather’s life. If it was available, we ate it. I even dined at Buffalo Wild Wings four days in a row and drank them out of Pinot Grigio (sad, but true.) By the time I arrived in O’Hare on my way home, I was desperately craving a healthy meal.

I found Summer House Santa Monica in the main terminal and devoured this Emerald Kale Salad with Chicken. It. Was. Everything. Next time you’re at Chicago O’Hare, try this salad. You won’t be sorry.

CURRENT SPA EXPERIENCE

I spent Saturday at a beautiful facial spa in Denver, and it’s officially my new favorite place in the city. Jalan Facial Spa is the most gorgeous, relaxing space… and I can’t even begin to tell you how much I loved the Ultimate Rose Quartz Facial (and mostly how wonderful my skin looked the days that followed!) Try this place!

CURRENT HOLIDAY TO-DO

One of my favorite holiday traditions is sending Christmas cards. In a world where our mailboxes are often tragically filled with bills and election flyers, I love receiving cards from friends and family filled with a little holiday cheer! While I’ve tried them all over the years, I’ve found Minted to be my favorite. They make it so easy to choose, customize, and address your cards, and their designs are literally the best.

I haven’t yet picked my card… but I know I plan to go with a non-photo design (since I’m a single gal with no kiddos) and pre-addressed cards (to make the mailing process effortless.) Their address book option has all my addresses from the past two years making this process ever so easy. Can’t wait to design and order my cards this weekend!

CURRENT BROADWAY SHOW

A few weeks ago, I had an opportunity to see Come From Away at the Denver Performing Arts Center and it knocked my socks off! If you’re not familiar (I wasn’t either!), the show highlights the kindness that was extended to 7,000 stranded 9/11 passengers in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland.

The show is funny, heartwarming, and made the crowd leap to a standing ovation at the end. Try this show if it comes to your town. It will amaze you.

CURRENT CURE ALL

After I got back from Ohio, I came down with a terrible cold. I tried my darnedest to stay on plan. After a trip to the doctor with a virus diagnosis, I decided to call in the big guns: I ordered pho. If you haven’t ever tried the spicy Asian soup remedy, it totally works. EVERY TIME. Pro Tip: Make it as spicy as you can handle it. It will cure you!

CURRENT CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT

You can’t really have too many rosé ornaments on your tree, can you? This one from Wish Gifts Denver is adorable… and has prime position on my Christmas tree.

I just started reading Crazy Rich Asians this month. I’ve heard the movie is phenomenal… but I wanted to read the story first. Can’t wait to soak in a bubble bath this weekend and devour this book!

I’ve used these Neutrogena Makeup Remover Towlettes for a long time, but I just discovered that they come in singles this month! Here in Colorado, they seem to dry out way too quickly due to our dry climate. These single-sized pouches solve the drying out issue and are perfect for travel.
