HAPPY HALLOWEEN, My Dears!!
How often do I get to pull out that super scary font below… I couldn’t resist. And it fits perfectly with my super-scary pumpkin? It’s been a very light blogging month… and I’m pretty sure you’ll know why when you see all that’s been going on CURRENTLY. Enjoy!
Current Pretty Travel Pics
This month, I’ve been EVERYWHERE. I’ve spent time in Florida with the family, jetted off to Nashville to visit my besties and see Adele, and I wrapped up the month with a quick trip to Montelucia. So busy… a little hectic… but absolutely worth it. Here’s a few pics from the fun.

Current Read
I just started reading Glennon Doyle Melton’s Love Warrior. I finished part one last night and can’t wait to tear into part two. Have you read this?
Current Snack Find
If you follow me (or pretty much any healthy living blogger) on Instagram, you may have heard that Halo Top Creamery released TEN new flavors this month!! Halo Top is a high protein, low calorie ice cream that comes in like a million flavors now… and it’s REALLY good. True Story: It doesn’t taste healthy.
This was the stash I picked up at my local King Soopers (ps… there is a store locator online here). My favorites have been the Peanut Butter Cup and the Red Velvet so far. I haven’t made my way through all of them quite yet though… I still need to find the s’mores flavor!
Current Music
October was a month of concerts! It kicked off with Adele in Nashville. Angela, Jaede, and I bought tickets last December for this concert, and it FINALLY was time for the show. We had TERRIBLE seats, but decided actual seats were better than no seats.
She certainly did not disappoint. Her voice was exquisite; and her songs rocked the arena.
As though that were enough, my friend Leslie invited me to join her for a last minute Stevie Nicks concert last week here in Denver! We had such a blast and Stevie (and the Pretenders!) were incredible!
Current Celebrity Spotting
Ok, I didn’t run into him randomly… but I did meet this guy this month!
In case you don’t recognize that face, it’s none other than Nicholas Sparks! Author of the novel The Notebook and king of the tearjerker, the Tattered Cover (a local Denver bookstore) hosted a book signing with Nick Sparks, in honor of his 20th year of writing and release of his 20th novel Two by Two.
Not only did Elyce, Anita, and I have our picture taken with him, but we each received a signed copy of the book! For me, that signed copy got shipped directly to Florida… to one of his biggest fans, my dad.
Current Concert Anticipation
Did you guys hear that Kelly Clarkson’s Miracle on Broadway is officially back for 2016? That’s right… the charity concert of all charity concerts in Nashville will be held this December. And, I’ll be there! Tickets go on sale on Friday, November 4th.
Current Daredevil Act
You guys, I went parasailing this month.
Between us friends, I was scared to death… but didn’t want to miss out on the opportunity. I literally almost didn’t go (much to my brother and Beth’s embarrassment)… but I did it! It was beautiful up there, and while I held on with a death grip, I’d say I liked it. Great way to wrap up our trip in the gulf.
Current Denver Outing
I went to my first Tedx Event this month! Part of the Ted series (a la those Ted Talks we all watch online), this event was specifically designed for women. I grabbed two of my favorite gal pals and off we went.
I’m glad we went… but not all of the speakers really excited us. Next time, we’ll livestream instead, but still a cool experience!
Current TV Excitement
I cannot believe that we’re less than a month away from the new episodes of Gilmore Girls!!!!
Current Friend Pact
When I was in Nashville mid month, my friends Angela, Justin, and I decided to start a meditation pact. We decided to give it a shot using a meditation app that I’d downloaded MONTHS ago and never clicked on: Headspace.
Since then, I’ve been doing pretty well to meditate every day… for at least ten minutes and it’s been great! The first ten days are free BTW. You should totally try it. More on meditation coming soon.
Current Tattoo:
Temporary tattoo, that is. I ordered a packet of Flash Tattoos filled with positive words and yoga symbols. While a permanent tattoo is not on my radar right now, I have to say, I’ve fallen in love with having this gratitude reminder at my wrist. Click here to see the details and more about Flash Tattoos.
Current Nail Color
It’s still warm in Colorado (like in the 70s and 80s), so it just doesn’t seem right to leap toward those dark goth-like fall colors… not quite yet anyway. So, I’ve been dabbling with a lighter fall color: Chinchilly by Essie. And, I’m obsessed. It is quite possibly the perfect fall nail color for me right now!
Current Water Bottle Find
By now, you know that I love me some H2O, and that I rarely leave home without a water bottle. I fill up at the airport, at Starbucks, anywhere I can find a tap.
Well, through the miracle of the interwebz, I found this Soma water bottle and it is just so so cute!!!
It’s glass, dishwasher safe (minus the cap), and so sleek! I had to order another… love!
Current Restaurant Obsession
How many times do I travel through Denver International Airport on a monthly basis… through the same concourse? The answer: A LOT.
And, how exactly has it taken me nearly 4 years to stop into Root Down at DIA? No clue. It is an incredible spinoff to one of Denver’s most popular farm-to-table restaurants, and it’s incredible.
I tried it though, and I am literally obsessed. I had the beet gazpacho (OMG) and a lovely rose before my trip to Phoenix this month. When I have time before my flight, I’m absolutely going back.
And, Denver being one of the busiest airports in the country… I know that you might be traveling through too. C Concourse for Southwest – Root Down. You won’t be sorry.
Oh, and I totally plan to recreate that gazpacho at home… stay tuned…
Current Mood
I’m a little taken aback by this election season. And, I saw this sign outside a local restaurant over the weekend.
Yes, let’s PLEASE make America kind again. The negative energy tied to this election has been WAY too much. I look forward to November 10. In the meantime, please go vote if you haven’t already! This year is WAY too important to stay on the sidelines.
