While it’s taken me two weeks to get this trip recapped, it’s for good reason. First there has been so much for me to share, and second… I’ve been on the go ever since I got home. Nonetheless, let’s talk through the final day with Kohl’s.
Just in case you missed the posts I’ve shared about this trip previously, I’ve linked them below so that you can catch up:
After an amazing morning at the Color Run, we headed back to the hotel to SHOWER and refuel. Wow, there is NOTHING like a shower after a Color Run. Not only is the water completely refreshing after a 5K, but also it runs charcoal grey until it runs clear. And, if you check out the pictures I’ve posted… you can only imagine how grey that water was. The after suddenly became picture-worthy, for example…
After a quick lunch with the ladies, I tucked away again with my friends from Kohl’s to wrap up a few more video clips. Looking back… I wonder if this is how a reality TV show is. For example, the cameras follow you around throughout the adventures and then you clean up and have a “confessional” style interview. Super fun…
As though we hadn’t had enough fun on this trip, there were two amazing stops remaining. The first whisked us away to Polished Nail Bar in Milwaukee for a fabulous mani pedi. I absolutely love a nice nail salon, and this place was BEYOND lovely. The staff was phenomenal, specifically my nail artist Rene who took such great care of my nails – – Go see him, y’all!!
We had a chance to kick back, pamper our paws, and enjoy some champagne before the evening events. What’s better than bubbly with your besties?
And, of course, that fancy Flat Jaede joined us for our escapades here as well.
And, as with other stops, our camera crew showed up to shoot some footage too. Only, this time around it wasn’t me in front of the camera, it was my dear friends. Truth be told, I had to purposefully try not to listen to them. They all said such nice things, it makes me tear up even now thinking of it. I’m sure some of it will make the Kohl’s video…
After we were polished to perfection, we headed back to the hotel to change for the evening dinner cruise. Kohl’s had arranged an amazing trip down the Milwaukee River. Such a gorgeous evening, the trip on the water was scenic, memorable, and a wonderful way to end our weekend.
Of course, we took some pictures on the roof deck. We even celebrated with some party favors that Angela had brought for us to enjoy – – Thanks, Ang!!
Then headed down to the main cabin for a lovely dinner. Donna offered a fantastic toast to Kohl’s and our lovely hostesses. With that lead in, the food was delicious, and the company even better. As for the entertainment, who knew we would end up singing at the table? Well, maybe Angela and I could have called it… but the others, I believe were a little taken aback (while loving it completely!)
The music on the boat was a fabulous mid-90s mix of adult contemporary music…. classics that listened to over and over again in college. A soundtrack to my college years for sure, featuring artists like Wilson Phillips, the Cranberries, and wait for it… Jann Arden. In one of the most hilarious moments of the weekend, Angela, Katie, Tiffany, and I sang along to the classic “Insensitive” at the table, for all to hear. If I remember correctly, we got some significant applause… so, clearly out audience loved it. Just another moment on this trip I’ll never forget. I hope someone got pictures of this… I was too busy singing after.
After dinner we cruised back to the dock, snapping the obligatory Titanic pic with Beth along the way… and realizing that the fun was coming to a close.
The next morning, we said our goodbyes (sniff!) and headed our respective directions. After the first set of girls left, I had a chance to talk with Lily and Katie… and I legitimately don’t think my words were enough to express how much I appreciated all they had done for us.
Not only did we have a chance to enjoy this beautiful weekend with Kohl’s, but also spend the weekend with Katie and Lily which made it even better! They made sure that we had so much fun every step of the way, added so many personal touches to the itinerary, and they blended in with my group of friends as though we had known each other for years.
Also, to think that these two women had selected me for this adventure in Milwaukee is just incredible. The YES Moment, exploring Milwaukee, the Color Run, visiting with four of my favorite women on the planet… I loved every bit of it, Kohl’s. Brilliantly executed, you have gained customers for life in each and every one of us.
While words are just simple letters strung together, I once again have to say a warm, heartfelt (and still-not-nearly-enough) THANK YOU. xoxo
Disclaimer: This weekend and its associated #YESMoment was sponsored by Kohl’s; however, my comments of the trip and Kohl’s programs are based completely upon my personal experience and opinion.
