Wednesdays are usually all about working out…. but this week, I’m talking about another kind of work.
In just five days, my life is about to change.
I’ve been interviewing for a new position since September (and keeping that tiny secret from you all… oopsy!) After months of interviews and end of year budget-related delays, I got an offer from the new company a few weeks back and have accepted! The new job is with my current client, and they’re so excited to have me (and I them.) I get to work with the same great people that I work with today… just in a new capacity where I can learn and grow in new ways. SCORE!
I can’t even tell you how excited I am about this new opportunity. While I don’t talk about it that much here on NTTC, I’m a pretty spiritual person. I believe that you can create ANYTHING you want in your life, and I give myself full credit for creating this opportunity. Example: When I was house hunting, I knew exactly what I wanted… and found it and more. Same with this job, I knew what I wanted and the universe delivered. Right on time, and exactly what I needed.
How Does It Get Any Better Than This?
It’s an overwhelming and exciting experience when you get exactly what you wanted. I am so grateful for it.
Now, I’ll be honest with you: Excitement is not the only emotion I feel. Most people will change their jobs and that’s exactly what changes. The place where they work changes. Instead of driving to 12th Street everyday, they shoot over to 32nd Street to the new office. For me, this change is going to change my entire life.
The biggest change is going to be the travel. I’m breaking up with my suitcase!!! After almost 4 years living out of less than 50 lbs of luggage each week, I won’t be doing this anymore. Crazy, right? Just to give you perspective, I’ve traveled about 15 days per month for the past 4 years, and now I’ll be on the road (at most) 4 days a month.
Immediately, you might think I would just be relieved, but I’ve made a life on the road. You get into a routine; you make it work. Now, I’ll be home nearly every night.
I’ve always said this a lot: “If I were home more often, I would…” Now, I get a chance to do that. In a strange way, it’s scary. I get exactly what I’ve always wanted… will it be as great as I thought??
I also have so many personal goals that I’ll be able to work on: Getting into a more structured workout routine, expand my network, do more volunteer work, and prioritize meeting someone.
The great news for all of you is that this type of change is going to give me all sorts of new things to write about. So, get ready… there’s going to be a lot of fun ahead!
