Today is my very first day with my new company. I’m posting this early and hopeful that, by the time many of you read this, I’ll have already had a successful first day!
I posted last week about what a big change this new job will be for me both personally and professionally. I’m excited about it… but with any big change, you have to plan.
The time my day starts and ends will change, and my time at home will be different as well. I’m used to making my way home by 5pm, heading to the gym, and then coming home eating dinner and working again. And, that’s only what I do when I’m in town. Most days, I’ve been on the road. Those nights are completely different. I’ve had a crazy schedule, but it’s what I’ve done forever. Now, my new routine is going to be quite different.
I don’t usually get very specific like this with a plan of action, but on a week where I can’t predict much about my 9-5… I thought it might be good for my Capricorn brain to have a little outline for my eating/exercising plan. Here’s what I came up with:
1. Eat Jenny Craig Food for breakfast and dinner this week
This is an easy solution to dinner planning. I love Jenny Craig food… and picked up a few of my faves this weekend to have on hand. Dinner in 5 minutes sounds perfect to a girl that’s adjusting to a new schedule.
I also have ulterior motives for the re-intro of steady JC. I know in my heart of hearts that the last 11 lbs are TOAST if I start eating Jenny food more regularly + working out… watch out little L-B’s!!!
2. Pack a Gym Bag
I don’t usually workout every single day of the week, but I would like to get there at least Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of this week. That being said, I’m going to need to go directly from work to the gym just due to timing and my commute. Thus, I need my gym bag packed before I leave the house!
I packed it with workout clothes, my Nook (HUNGER GAMES!) and my iPod…. we’re all ready to go. I’m going to try to stay on my Couch to 5K schedule, which means hitting the gym (at minimum) every other day.
3. Plan to Drink Water!
I have a water bottle packed in my bag (and I need to buy a few more so I don’t have to do dishes all the time.) I know the office has a water cooler and I plan on giving that thing a workout! Also, I can take it to the gym in the evening for when I’m killing it on that treadmill.
I’m anticipating that I’ll be able to drink even more water than I usually do driving around town on sales calls… I’m excited about this and can’t wait to see how much water I drink and how it impacts the numbers on the scale.
4. Yoga starts back up this week
I found a Yoga class at the YMCA that I plan to take on Sunday nights. I just love that unwind before Monday morning. I saw them finishing up when I was there last night. I didn’t even realize they had Sunday evening yoga on the schedule! Ideally, I’d like to get into some of the Candlelight Yoga classes I saw available at a local yoga studio. too. Can’t wait to tell you more about that.
5. Lunch??
I can imagine that this week I’ll be going to lunch with new co-workers, so packing lunch may not be an option. I’m determined to order as I do (ala Sally from When Harry Met Sally)… and to eat healthy throughout the week when at lunch. Tomorrow, I’m packing pretty light because it’s day one, but I’ll eventually be toting snacks to the office in addition to my water bottle.
Ok…. that’s my plan. Let’s make it the best week ever!
[…] got interesting. At about 12:30pm, I was sent home… TO PACK FOR A TRIP! What?? Remember my perfectly planned day? Well.. my new employer had other things in mind. I raced home to get together some clothes and […]
