I’ve been doing a little home improvement lately, and I’m loving it…
While I have yet to makeover my laundry room so that it looks like this…
I instead chose an easier option and decided to tackle my bathroom. My dear friend Schoon knows how I struggle to make my rooms JUST RIGHT… and when it comes to the bathroom, I often spend hours and hours trying to find just the right shower curtain. Afterall, a bathroom space is so small, you have to pick the right one!
So, when I spotted this beauty on CB2.com, I knew I had to have it. I didn’t like it… I LOVED it!
When it arrived on Friday and I took a look at it, I knew exactly what I needed. BOLD PAINT to set it off…
My room is turquoise and white with fushcia accents, and I thought it would be PERFECT to bring that gorgeous fuschia into the bathroom so the colors and theme would flow…
The challenge came in choosing paints. My friend Sherwin Williams has SO many colors to choose from afterall.
Finally after much back and forth, I made a last minute decision to go with a color called “Fuschia Forward.” I rushed to the paint store to have it mixed up, and was thrilled to have my gallon at my house in time for the big storm that hit us on Sunday.
Yes, we got a TON of snow… and now, you might think that I painted my little heart out during the snow storm. And, if you’re thinking that… you are definitely wrong.
I am the messiest painter known to man. I can paint art (like a canvas) with an instructor and a glass of wine, but if you expect me to paint a wall… prepare for a hot mess.
I arranged a few weeks ago for my handyman to stop by to do a few random man jobs that I needed done – – fix a door, change the bulb in my dryer, paint my bathroom.
I think he did a fabulous job…
I only had him paint the back wall, so it’s just a pop of color… but I have to tell you, I’m in love with it. I mean, I’m in that kind of love with it where I seriously want to spend time in there. Although… it’s not really somewhere to entertain, which makes it a little awkward.
As I was writing this post, I realized that the color I picked out… well… it’s the color of all of those beets I’ve been roasting and posting to Instagram during my weekly beet roast. I post them because they’re gorgeous… and of course, because they torment my dear friend Jessica who demands (incorrectly) that they taste like dirt.
It’s official! I have a beet-colored wall! Love it!
Do you decorate with color? What’s the loudest color you have painted in your home?
[…] It also confirms something. I do, in fact, have a beet-colored bathroom!!! […]
