I survived Black Friday!
After a 4:40am wake up call so that I could get to a store by 6:00am, I actually powered through the day and had a blast visiting with customers. Now, I was at a store for work, not to buy doorbuster deals.
My company has a VERY large retail channel, which I was supporting today. I wasn’t out there to sell anything specific, I was more on hand to help the staff with anything they might need… and to visit with customers who were waiting.
I love customers. They’re kind of amazing. I love visiting with them, answering questions, and just finding unique ways to make their day. So today, even without a morning SCM, I did just that and had a blast! By 12:30, I had already put in nearly a full day… and I called it a day.
Directly following my Black Friday adventures, I met up with my friend Kristin to see… wait for it….
The final installment of the Twilight movies, we waited a whole week to see it. I usually wait for the screaming teens and tweens to see the movie the first weekend and then Kris and I sneak over to see it the following weekend.
I thought they did a really nice job wrapping up this movie, and Kristen Stewart was even somewhat appealing in her portrayal of Bella this time around. She was at times a badass (a word I usually reserve for Katniss Everdeen, not Bella Swan)… I felt she was a little spineless and whiny in previous movies, and was PLEASED to see the transformation. Well done, Bella! I also enjoyed the final credits where they showed the entire cast of all 5 movies, and played that awesome Christina Perri song that I’m loving these days.
When dinnertime rolled around, I knew EXACTLY what I was going to eat. Deb was nice enough to send me home with a few leftovers from our Friendsgiving feast. When I was picking what to bring, I quickly opted for more of that amazing smoked turkey and some of that delicious Skinnytaste Green Bean Casserole.
I also brought a bit of Mashed Potatoes home, but between us friends, those were an evening snack and didn’t make it through the night.
This tasty turkey offered me an opportunity to use some of the homemade BBQ sauce that I made last week. It’s a tangy, mustardy sauce that is PERFECTION with leftover turkey.
While I don’t often post over the weekend, I thought I’d give you a bonus post with this yummy sauce since you too might have leftovers in your fridge. Follow the recipe below to make your own batch!
