After a REALLY long week, setting my alarm on Saturday morning was not something I was looking forward to; however, I had a GREAT reason to be setting the alarm this week. Not only was there going to be a weigh-in on Saturday morning, but I also had a new class I was going to.
I woke up surprisingly well at 7:30am got dressed and headed to Jenny Craig to weigh. Knowing that I was going to take an 8:15am workout class outdoors… I knew that I would be drinking lots of water. That being said, I snuck into JC to weigh bright and early.
This Week’s Results: -2.6 lbs!
I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I was to see that number! That means I was down almost FIVE lbs in 2 weeks time. It’s amazing how much you an accomplish when you actually stay on plan! So excited!
Yoga in the Park
Last week on my way back from my JC consultation, I spotted a huge crowd of people doing yoga in the park. I also spotted a sign that said that there were going to be FREE classes in the park every Saturday for the whole summer!
A brand-new yoga studio is opening in town this week, and they are actually the ones hosting this event. It’s every Saturday from 8:15-9:15 through September 29th. Did I mention that it’s about 3 minutes from my house as well?
The instructor had the class set up so that all of us were facing the mountain view – – Perfect. She had a class of about 100 people and came prepared with an amp and a headset microphone so that she could walk us through the poses.
I found a spot near the front because I wanted to make sure that I could hear everything that was going on….
I snuck a quick pic of the crowd behind me. I literally couldn’t believe how many people were there and how the people kept pouring in… it was AWESOME.
After taking this class once, I already know that I’m hooked. I also already know that it’s going to be MUCH hotter out there when the sun is out. I’m going to need sunscreen on my back for sure… but this is going to be my new weekend ritual. I can feel it.
After yoga was done, I headed back to Jenny Craig for the second time on Saturday morning. I had my consultation with my new JCC Amalia at 9:40am.
Two-minute commentary on Amalia: She ROCKS! I am so excited to be working with her. Not only does she get my humor, but she’s so motivating and she celebrates each one of my successes. I love that. I know that I’m proud of how far I’ve come, but it’s nice to have a cheerleader out there rooting me on, too. I really hope each of you has a cheerleader of a JCC that you’re working with (or the exact kind of JCC you need). Amalia and I are going to hit goal together…. I just know it!
Having written down my weight for her during my first pop-in, we cut right to the chase and began talking about my week, challenges that lie ahead, and she answered some questions that I had about my next few weeks on Jenny.
We also did measurements during this visit! When I joined Jenny in November 2010, my measurements were captured and the last time I took official measurements was back in March of 2011. It was LONG overdue…
There are four measurements that we focus upon:
I expected the results to be positive considering I’m down FIVE pants sizes and have gone from an XXL to a M top, but I didn’t realize that the numbers would be this shocking.
BUST: From 44″ to 36″
Down 8 inches!
WAIST: From 38″ to 32″
Down 6 inches!
ABDOMEN: From 51″ to 36″
Down 15 inches! (WHOA)
HIPS: From 53″ to 44″
Down 9 inches!
This number will always be a little higher… since I’m pear-shaped and all, but curves rock!
TOTAL INCHES LOST: 38!!!!
I’m completely excited and newly motivated by the check-in with Amalia this weekend.
My next goal for is to maintain my weight through my trip to Vegas. I leave on Friday and I know that there’s going to be temptation around every corner. It’s VEGAS… that’s just how it goes. And, there will be wedding cake. We all know I’ll be tasting that. MAINTAIN through Vegas… I can do it!
[…] If I would only do crunches… I know this situation would be a lot better. Still I’ve lost 15 inches in that area… so I don’t stress on it so much. One of these days I’ll start working that […]
