Special thanks to Jenny Craig for their sponsorship of this post.
I went 42 years without being an everyday coffee person, and then, it happened.
I’m not much of a morning person, so the fact that I survived without coffee until then is super impressive (if I do say so myself.) Now, I start every single morning with espresso, and lots of it.
Rather than drinking my coffee with creamer, however, I’ve been mixing them with my Jenny Craig protein shake, specifically the Chocolate Dream Shake. You can definitely use the Vanilla Cream Shake, but I’m definitely a chocolate person whenever there’s a choice.
This recipe calls for freshly brewed espresso, in a quantity that works best for you. My recommendation is 2-3 shots of espresso, with a disclaimer that 3 shots of espresso is pretty potent (yet delicious!)
Coffee Shop Tip: If you order your espresso from a coffee shop like Starbucks, I’d recommend the following for ordering a double (or triple) espresso over ice in the largest possible cup (to allow for room for your shake.)
Home Espresso Tip: Inspired by COVID, I began making my espresso at home and I’m amazed by how easy it is. I’m sharing a link to the espresso maker I bought. It’s an entry level espresso maker and easy to use. I purchase espresso online as well. Super easy and much greater value!
About the Jar and Straw I Use: I just ordered these 24 oz. mason jar to use for my morning coffee and these glass straws from Amazon over the past several weeks and I love them! Not only do they look pretty but the cups are are dishwasher-safe, making cleanup a snap!
