Rather than set specific resolutions for 2015, I instead decided to choose a word for 2015 to focus upon: ENERGY.
While it is important that I’m surrounding myself with positive energy and making good decisions to get to the gym, it’s equally important that I am fueling my body with good foods and limiting stress.
Eating healthily is incredibly important to me, and I never want it to feel like a burden. For 2015, I intend make sure that I’m simplifying my food-planning efforts.
Adopting a Weekly Plan
It’s not that my current food planning is cumbersome, as much as it’s inconsistent. I go through periods where I am consistently planning out my meals for the week, and others where I’m flying by the seat of my pants.
To make sure I’m ready for the week, I intend to begin weekly meal planning, starting this week! When I have a plan, eating healthy is so much less stressful and enjoyable!
Always Have Quick Options Available
I hate when I walk in the door famished. You know those moments where you need a meal in front of you within 2 minutes, or you’re bound to eat the entire contents of your pantry through nibbles and bites.
Over the past few months I’ve begun leaning on Progresso™ Light Soups as a way to quickly start dinner… when crazy hunger consumes me.
In just 2 minutes in the microwave, I have a hot bowl of tasty goodness! And, it keeps me RIGHT on track! I pair it with a salad, a veggie side, and/or fruit, and I’m well on my way!
My favorite Progresso™ Light flavors are Loaded Baked Potato with Bacon and Cheese, Beef Stew, and Italian Style Meatball. Yum!!!
You can find a full list of all Progresso™ Light soups (40 flavors with 100 calories) here.
Incorporate Online Grocery Shopping during Busy Weeks
I still can’t believe how easy it was to order my groceries online from Walmart Grocery to Go’s delivery service, and to just have all my ingredients and my very specific grocery list show up at my front door.
Rather than thinking I’m superwoman all the time, I’m going to use services like this when times get busy and to make sure that I have all I need in my house to be successful.
Food Prep Every Single Week
In addition to my meal planning, Sunday night food prep is CRITICAL!
Chopping veggies for snacks and making sure that I have a fresh salad in my fridge to eat off of for the week will be really important. Taking that one hour on Sunday nights will assure I’m prepared, and eliminate stress during the week to make way for positive energy.
I’m excited about my plan to simplify, and I’m confident that it’s going to bring me success!
How are you simplifying your food planning for 2015?
