Happy New Years’ Eve Eve, y’all! It’s time for my year-end Currently post…
Current Snuggly Outerwear:
I picked up a few new coats this season. Especially considering today’s below-zero temps, I needed these! Although, my coat closet may disagree…
I found this cute-cute puffy black Michael Kors coat at Nordstrom Rack. It’s one of those puffy, lightweight down coats that are REALLY warm and really squishable. Example, I was able to stuff this into my backpack on the plane during my trip in a tiny travel bag. LOVE IT!
And, this red number from New York and Company. My white wool coat needed to be retired this year as it was looking a little dingy, so welcome pretty red coat!! Coupons and sales this season have been WAY too tempting…
Current Excessive Holiday Purchase:
I ran out of Christmas paper this year, so I decided to order some during the holiday gift wrap sales after Christmas. Through the miracle of the internet, I was able to easily order paper from Current and Crate and Barrel at half off! YES!!!
The first batch has arrived, and while I love the paper, I think I have enough paper to last me the next lifetime!! Get ready to see this paper for years and years to come, folks…
Current Craft:
My holidays have been VERY crafty! Spending a ton of time on airplanes and chilling with the fam, I used this time to knit all sorts of awesome things. There were hats for babies, a few ear warmers for friends, and a pretty pretty scarf.
Current Read:
While I was on the plane back to Denver yesterday, I was working on a knitted hat for my niece (above left!) and I decided to listen to an audiobook while I was in the air. Have you ever read this book?
Sophie Kinsella is best known for her hilarious Shopaholic series (there’s a new one out, btw!), but this book is my favorite that she’s written. It’s a super silly story about Emma Corrigan and her adventures at work. Being a working girl myself, the dynamics and shenanigans that come up in her office are hysterical. And, there’s something awesome about an audiobook read by someone with a British accent. Whether you read this book or listen to it, I definitely recommend it!
Current Project:
During the time after Christmas and before the New Year, I always use this time to tackle the organizational issues that have accumulated over the year. And, let me assure you, there are PLENTY!
This week, I’m working on scarf re-organization, going through drawers, and organizing the craft area. I’ve also got my eye on taking down my Christmas tree today… and putting away my suitcases for a few months!
Current Blogging Anticipation:
I’ve been alluding to the NTTC makeover on social media for the past few months. I’ve been working with Cassie over at Back to Her Roots who is a phenomenal graphic designer to re-design my space, updating it to accommodate a new look and feel and taking your feedback into consideration from the Blogtastic survey so many of you participated in earlier in the year.
In preparation for the big reveal, I updated my “My Weight Loss Story” page and added a new one for “About Me”
My blog has changed quite a bit over the years, and I’m hoping you love its new look as much as I do! Stay tuned!
Current Music:
December has been a HUGE month for Christmas music for me, and I’m still stunned by how amazing the Kelly Clarkson Miracle on Broadway concert in Nashville was, and so excited that I got to be a part of it.
The event raised $400,000 for Nashville charities (including Thistle Farms!), and Kelly rocked that stage with friends for 3 hours. Amazing night, and I’ve been listening to Wrapped in Red ever since…
Current Etsy Find:
With the new year almost here, it was time to look for a new calendar. I usually use Etsy because I love all of the artists’ original work that’s out there… and the selection is so awesome. This year, I found much more than a calendar. I ran across a new-to-me store called SilverTreeArt. Her shop has the most beautiful, inspiring cards and artwork. I ended up ordering this.
This beautiful set of cards is going to be part of my 2015 plan. I’m looking to really create a positive, happy, healthy year… and what a fantastic tool to do this. Check out her full Etsy shop here.
Current Gratitude:
I’m so thankful to be home. I absolutely had the best December, and was out of town TWELVE DAYS of the month. Yep, twelve! (That probably explains why I went radio silent here on NTTC… too much going on!)
While I miss the pitter patter of my nephew running everywhere he goes and my niece singing with her Beats headset on for all to hear… It was luxurious to sleep in my bed last night, and I can’t wait to do it again tonight. Ahhh… it’s the little things.
I do miss these two, however… too cute when they’re trying to stay off the naughty list.
