This summer at the FitSocial conference here in Denver, I entered a drawing for a gift card for Mile High Organics… and I won!
Mile High Organics is a Boulder, CO based company who offers home and office delivery of organic, GMO-free, and local products to the greater Denver area.
I won a $50 gift card, and considering how many vegetables I eat each week I figured it would be no problem to spend that amount on a delivery!
As I shopped the site, I realized a few things: 1) Delivery was free with a $75 order or you could pay $25 for delivery… it was obvious that I needed to fill my cart to $75. 2) There were so many options to choose from, I had trouble deciding where to begin! So many yummy vegetables… so many fruits. I was in heaven!
I scheduled my delivery to show up at my office on Friday. I figured it would take place of my usual grocery shopping that I do on the weekends, and would give me a chance to explore with my new veggies.
Something to note: Delivery is scheduled between 7am and 7pm. This I didn’t realize. My shipment arrived at my office at about 3pm. After seeing the way it was shipped, I definitely will ship to my house next time. The tote they use is super sturdy and packed well that it could easily have sat on my front porch until I got home.
The container and packing supplies are recyclable, so the next time I order, I’ll simply give this container back to them exchanging it for another.
Inside, there was thermal packaging and icepacks. Oh, and the most beautiful veggies…
I mentioned that I tried some new veggies as part of the shipment… and here they are. Have you tried Jerusalem Artichokes (AKA Sunchokes)? I cooked some of them on Sunday, and they are DELICIOUS. Expect to see a recipe with these bad boys in the next few weeks… one you’re going to want to make!
I filled out my order with fruits, and other grocery items.
Please note the Quinn’s Vermont Maple and Sea Salt Microwave Popcorn above… OMG
Overall, I really enjoyed this experience. The quality of groceries is fantastic, and I’m all set for a week or so with vegetables and fruits! I’ve even talked to a co-worker about splitting an order next time I make one (since we’re both single and would have a hard time getting to $75.)
Thanks, Mile High Organics, for giving me a chance to try this great service!
Have you ever tried an online grocery delivery service? How was your experience?
