Do you remember when Facebook had that trend where everyone was completing a note with 25 random things about themselves?
I ran across mine the other night from way back in 2009… what’s interesting is that while several things are pretty different, there are quite a few that are the same.
Since it’s Friday, I thought I might share a hybrid “25 Random Things about Me” list… what makes it hybrid is that I’ll keep the ones that are still relevant and add new ones to replace those that are now out of date (marked in pink!)
25 Random Things About Me
1. My niece and nephew are two of my favorite things in this world. I just love them to pieces!! Still VERY true!
2. I feel like I have a lot to be thankful for. Good things tend to come my way, and I appreciate all the luck I have.
3. I am amazing at destroying my kitchen. Right now, it’s completely ridiculous… and I totally did it. I’ve always been a clean-as-I-go cooker, but I’m becoming messy in my old age… Funny thing for a food blogger to admit, but tis true!
4. I’m terrified of thunderstorms, and don’t even get me started on Tornado Warnings…
5. There are days where I look in the mirror and am surprised that I’ve lost the weight. Even two years later, it hasn’t sunk in that I’m almost 80 lbs lighter.
6. Flowers are one of my favorite things…. especially tulips – – get close and smell them sometime.
7. Another thing I am a huge fan of is fruited water. Not the Dasani crap, but the pretty water coolers that have oranges, lemons, strawberries, etc. So refreshing!
8. I love to knit. I’m always making something… and love that I can create something out of some string.
9. I love, love, love living in Colorado – – Greatest place on earth!
10. While I never thought I’d miss it, I miss frequent traveling, the energy at the airport, and the luxury of having housekeeping make my bed every day.
11. I’m a huge Kelly Clarkson fan – – Can’t wait to see her again in concert with Angela so that we can have a sing-a-long! Still very true, as Angela remains one of my favorite partners-in-crime.
12. I believe that accessories are extremely important…
13. I’ve lived in Colorado for 6 years, and I’ve never been up in the mountains during the snowy, wintry season. I’ve only ever been up there in the summer.
14. I like to order special… a la Meg Ryan in “When Harry Met Sally”…. Don’t judge! It’s good that way!
15. I love to entertain, but try really hard not to focus functions with friends around food… this can present challenges some times.
16. I’m incredibly inspired by Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg right now. I’m probably going to write a LONG post (or series of posts) about it, because I love it that much!
17. The beach is my happy place. I really need to see the ocean this year.
18. I expect great service, and tend to try to cheer up lackluster service people so that they have a better day and treat the next person better.
19. I read a lot… especially when I travel. I’m always looking for something good to read. I’d like to join a book club maybe, assuming it was GOOD books!
20. I feel I know a lot of people who have great dreams that they are sitting on, waiting for, and hoping to have happen to them. Each one has something so fabulous they want… Just letting you know I’m here when you take the leap!!!!! LEAP!!! I feel like I am one of these people most days…
21. Why live in black and white when you can have color? I always choose color….
22. I have zero tolerance for meanness. No thanks, buh-bye.
23. I’ve been told all my adult life that I look a lot like a younger, fabulous Marie Osmond. {I added the younger, fabulous part}
24. I have been known to speak in British accent from time to time. One of my favorites was faking out some Brits at Disney World and entertaining a bus full of tourists – – Gasp!
25. If you would have told me that I’d be blogging about weight loss three years ago, I would have told you that you were crazy, and asked you to pass the chips.
Do you remember doing this survey a few years back?
