It’s official. I made it home from Montelucia. I can’t even begin to tell you what a wonderful time we had. I’m going to try to later in the week, when I can organize my thoughts a little bit better.
It was a REALLY amazing weekend. I mean, how could we possibly not enjoy ourselves here….
One of the things that made the weekend especially amazing was that I got to spend it with my friend Donna. Donna and I met about 8 years ago, and I always told her that I didn’t really like her when I met her. She was a fast talking New Yorker and quite intimidating because she was so smart. What I moreso tell her is that I didn’t like her because she wore those neck scarves we all used to wear way back when…
I joke… those scarves were awesome! If Marty can wear them…
We’ve spent a lot of our time as friends… on vacation! Donna and I started traveling way back when we first met in Nashville, and it just kind of works. We always have a blast, and we always make it a memorable trip!
As I was looking back at pics from past trips, it also offers a NTTC weight loss progression story at the same time, as you’ll see.
The variety of our travels changed quite a bit once we met Montelucia… and now that’s where we tend to meet up. While we catch up via phone and text throughout the year, it’s usually these two weekends of the year where we really connect. I really appreciate this time so much.
So many people I know have seen the pictures of Montelucia… and have asked to join us. And, we’ve even talked about inviting additional folks to join… but we never seem to coordinate it all. The trip is so easy and perfect as it is, it’s hard to imagine it any other way. Who knows…. maybe next year, I’ll be writing about us being a larger party. But, for now… it’s been a party of two at our absolute favorite spot in the desert.

I often get told I take a lot of vacations…. but I seriously just rock long weekends and jet off to see friends. I highly recommend taking advantage of long weekends with your best travel companion as often as possible! Whether roadtrip or involving a flight, it can be SO rejuvenating.
Do you have a favorite travel companion? Or anywhere you love to go regularly that you’d recommend for a future getaway? PS… We’ve been talking about Santa Fe for YEARS and have never gotten there…
