I feel like I’ve been a little distracted for the past few weeks.
Ever since I started my new job, I’m quick to justify an extra snack… a meal of Chick-fil-A Chicken Minis for Breakfast… or even dessert like the delicious chocolate cake I ate last night.
I’ve been distracted from my goal and what is so important to me. I’ve described myself as operating in survival mode, but I think I’ve taken advantage of this new experience to slip back into old habits. I wouldn’t really call that survival mode… lazy mode is more like it.
Beginning today, I’m going to be fiercely back on track. I got on the scale this morning and confirmed that I’m up close to 4 lbs over the past month or so, with much credit given to this past two week’s indulgences. Now, I’ll admit the 18-20 hour days with my new team left little time for working out… but the choice of a BLT for lunch is something I have to own. Out of all the choices, that’s what I picked and I ate the parmesan chips with it as well. Seriously. Now, I know you think that’s just one meal… but it only takes one meal to begin the downward spiral. And, there were many others eaten this week that were just way too far off plan.
I know I’ve come WAY too far to have it all go up in smoke, a few pounds at a time.
I want to get these last few pounds removed from my body, and to have those size 12s fit beautifully when I pick them up for the alterations lady this week. Any additional nibbles and bites of crap will only keep me further from this goal.
I’ve found three things that I am shooting for goal-wise:
1 – My trip to Las Vegas – My friend Angela is getting married in just two months. I have committed that I will be at goal by then. I’ve got to get there.
My friend Jaede and I talked today about how we both need to stop the insanity…. and we’re both committed to healthy eating here on out. We both need dresses and new bathing suits in preparation for this trip. Seriously, Jaede… Bathing suits. We’ve got to do this.
2. I’ve Got a Race to Run in EIGHT Weeks – No more excuses, I need to be running several times a week. I can’t let Team Bev down! 5K is NOT that hard…. I’ve got to be running and training several times per week. No excuses.
3. I found my new final reward ring – I went to look at the Alex Sepkus ring I’ve been eye-ing for years… and I was underwhelmed. This weekend, I found this beauty on Pinterest. She’s much less expensive, and just gorgeous. I think it’s a keeper… and I want to be wearing it in Vegas.
Ok… I am going to weigh in this Friday. No matter what. And, report back to you how it’s going. I’m asking you to hold me accountable, and I know you’ll hold me to what I should be doing. I didn’t lose 79 lbs without some effort and some discipline. I’ll lose the next 12 lbs by doing the same.
Thank you in advance for your support. I need it now more than ever.
[…] Yesterday, I told you that the insanity had to stop… and I’m proud to say I held to my commitment for the first 24 hours. […]
