Current Book

I’m currently on a trip to Memphis, and I forgot my iPad. I know. How does that even happen? With that, I perused the bookstore at the airport and found that Padma Lashski has a book out called Love, Loss and What We Ate. Being a huge fan of Top Chef, I decided to give it a read.

It’s been a long time since I read an autobiography… and thumbing through the book, I see she includes recipes! Even better!

Current Proud Moment

On this trip to Memphis, I’m REALLY trying to stay on track with my program. For the first time in a LONG time, I’m traveling with a full meal plan that I plan on sticking to! I’ll share more on my travel story next week on the blog…

Current Voice Contestant to Watch

Are y’all fans of the Voice? I wasn’t that interested until Kelly Clarkson joined the team of Coaches, but now I’m HOOKED! Season 15 has an extra special treat in that one of my former co-workers’ daughters is a contestant!!! Watch out for Reagan Strange – – this girl’s gonna rock The Voice!

Current Makeup Tutorial

You guys, I’ve gotten hooked on online hair and makeup tutorials. I don’t know how it happened but it did. And, recently I was watching one of the Cortney Wheeler tutorials and I talked myself into buying all the makeup she used from Younique.

This girl is LEGIT when it comes to tutorials… and there’s no filter above. This stuff totally works! Here’s the video I followed.

Current Yoga Experience

In September, I went to the last Vino, Vinyasa, and Violins class at the Denver Botanic Gardens. The series runs from June-September, and of course, will be back next year. I already miss this class, and this beautiful outdoor setting. Thank you to all of you who joined me at the gardens this year!! xo

Current Home Improvement Effort

Have I told you guys I’m looking to put grown-up window coverings on my windows? When my painters came in last year, they messed up the crappy mini-blinds I have in my place. Eager to get the project done, I vowed to replace them shortly after. A year later, I’m still looking like I have a dog or child that likes to peek out the window and pull on the blinds. Sigh.

I’ve been getting quotes, but the whole process is so expensive! Denver friends – If you have blinds referrals, hit me up!

Current Surprise Favorite Drink

It’s coffee. I am officially a daily coffee drinker. Not just any coffee, I like my triple espresso over ice in a Venit cup, and then I stir in my Jenny Craig Protein Shake to make the most amazing iced coffee drink! Disclaimer: Jenny Craig sponsors my participation in their program.

Current Concert Excitement

Did you guys hear that my girl Kelly Clarkson is going on tour next year??? Her Meaning of Life tour starts in Northern California in January! While she (strangely) isn’t coming to Denver, I’ve made plans to see her in LA and in Nashville, and I’m DYING for this tour season to begin. See you on the road, Kel!

Current Montelucia Moment

Donna and I were back at Montelucia this month for some much needed R&R. She’s quite the VIP on the property (and I like to think I am too), and she scored LITERALLY the room with the most incredible view of the property. LOVED IT. Seriously, if you ever need a getaway, go here.

Current Denver Tourist Moment

COMPLETELY by accident, I had dinner earlier in the month at the original Chipotle. Did you know that Chipotle started in Denver? Sadly (and ridiculously) they’ve moved their HQ from Denver this year, but I did have a burrito bowl at their first location in Denver and paused to take a pic of the sign outside.

Current Medium Moment

Do any of you watch the Seatbelt Psychic? Well, I do. Thomas John is an INCREDIBLY talented medium that has been a regular on the Taylor Strecker Show for YEARS (Hey Girl, Heyyyy!)

I found out Thomas was coming to Denver and made a decision to go have a reading. I didn’t have anything in particular that I was hoping to hear or anyone in particular that I wanted to connect with. I was mostly just curious. You guys. This night was one for the books. Seriously, one of the most powerful readings I’ve ever had… with several dear family members coming through with messages only they could have for me. Truly warmed my heart, and I’m eternally grateful for the gift Thomas gave me that night.

Current Travel Adventures

I traveled for about 10 days at the beginning of the month, kicking off the tour with my cousin’s wedding in Ohio + a quick trip to see my grandpa. From there, I traveled to San Jose and onto San Francisco for some work meetings, before finally settling into the Spa at the Montelucia for some much needed R&R.
