I don’t think there are words for the tragedy that took place last week in Connecticut. We’ve all seen the footage. We’ve all spent a moment imagining what it would feel like if our loved ones were in danger like those poor children on Friday. As a nation, we’re grieving. We are all affected, but none as much as those dear families in Newtown who will spend the holidays without their beloved daughters, sons, husbands, and wives.
Tomorrow, No Thanks to Cake will be participating in the Moment of Silence organized by several bloggers (Neely, Michelle, and Megan.) Instead of posting a recipe as I usually do on Tuesdays, I’ll be keeping quiet and reflecting upon the tragedy in Newtown, and I encourage you to do the same.
So to the blog world and to anyone else who wants to help…
On Tuesday, December 18th, there will be a blogger day of silence. We will post the button and that’s it. Please try to not post anything else that day if possible. We are also raising money that will go to an organization in the memory of this tragedy. The organization is called The Newtown Youth and Family Services.
