When I’m working out, I usually do a combination of watching TV and listening to my iPod. Sometimes, there’s just NOTHING on the TV and/or I have no patience in flipping through the channels. In which case, I dedicate myself to music.
I also find that if I’m doing my Couch to 5K Workout, music is the only way to go. The other thing I find… is that sometimes I REALLY want to sing when I’m working out. I’ve never bust out into song, but could you imagine the reaction at the Y???
Without further ado, here are some of my favorites…
Stronger by Kelly Clarkson
We’ve talked about Stronger before… it literally gets me moving and makes me want to run. I heard it today while I was doing some bicep work and literally wanted to go jump on the treadmill! I’ve also got a few other Kelly songs on my workout list: Never Again, My Life Would Suck without You, Miss Independent, Breakaway, and Since You’ve Been Gone
Poison – Bell Biv Devoe
This song takes me back to high school and actually always makes me think of my crazy friends from Tennessee. It’s a classic… try not to move faster when these boys are singing. I dare you!
We Found Love – Rihanna
I actually have a bunch of Rihanna on my playlist. We Found Love is a new fave, but S&M, Disturbia, and SOS are also on the list.
Funky Cold Medina – Tone Loc
This one amuses me. I usually start laughing when it comes on. My workout playlist has 90 songs, so it’s not often that there’s a repeat. But Tone Loc whether it’s this one or Wild Thing, it always brings a smile.
Here’s a few more goodies that I currently have on the ol’ Workout Playlist:
Lady Marmalade – Christina, Pink, Missy, et al
Some Days You Gotta Dance – Dixie Chicks
Mercy – Duffy
Firework – Katy Perry
Cowboy Cassanova – Carrie Underwood
No Diggity – Blackstreet
Express – From the Burlesque Soundtrack – Christina Aguilera
Party in the USA – Miley Cyrus
The Big Bang – Rock Mafia
The Walk – Mayer Hawthorne
Moves Like Jagger – Maroon 5
Any Man of Mine – Shania Twain
Push It – Salt n Pepa
Womanizer, Toxic – Britney Spears
