This is the week…
How many times have we said that? I have often declared that this is the week that I plan to…
I often refer to these tongue-in-cheek, as the lies I tell myself. While I often have the best of intentions, these are the to-do’s that I am most likely to leave behind and to neglect when life starts getting busy, competing plans sound more fun, and I’m faced with a big glass of wine.
What’s interesting is that each week, I BELIEVE that this is the week! And, truthfully, I feel that way today.
I also feel it important to point out… that I HAVE DONE THIS BEFORE! And, lost almost 80 lbs in doing so! I haven’t forgotten the impact, nor to I disregard what I’ve accomplished; however, I’ve got that last 15 that continues to linger… those pounds that I’d like to go head to head with this week.
I had a lovely weekend. You know, one of those weekends where you spend time with friends, knock things of your to-do list, and genuinely enjoy yourself. LOVED IT!
I also found myself continuing to eat a little of this and a little of that that I shouldn’t, most in the form of a glass or two of wine. And each day after eating/drinking a little outside the box… I woke up feeling lousy. Not lousy in a hungover kind of way, but lousy in a sluggish, not getting the right nutrients kind of way.
I don’t like feeling this way, and honestly, I haven’t felt this way in a long time. {I do, however, love that there is 1) an adverse reaction to poor eating and 2) that I recognize it when it happens!}
So, because THIS IS THE WEEK… I am going to get myself back on track and start waking up FEELING the way I want to in the morning. I also know that this needs to be consistent…
How do I plan to make this a solid week? What strategies will I put in place to make sure that I’m successful?
I’m going back to the basics. For me, that means that I am going to spend some time with my girl Jenny Craig. The fact that Jenny has some new foods available for me to try this week have me motivated to eat on program again, and overall, I really like their food and the convenience of it all.
I’ve already tried two of the new snacks and I’m in LOVE. For example, they have a new Red Velvet Cupcake. OMG – I die for Red Velvet! Oh, I’m so happy this snack has joined the lineup.
And that technique pictured above for eating it? Yep… it gives you frosting in every single bite. You’re Welcome!
The new Kettle Corn is also crazy tasty… gives you that combo of salty-sweet that is to die for!
I’m choosing food to be my focus for this week. Consuming healthy meals and snacks with little outside junk = my target. This target is further challenged in that I will be in several work-related functions this week where there will be not-so-healthy foods present. My plan is to make these events fun, and eat only what I want/need to be eating at said functions.
I also feel like if I try to focus on all FIVE things, it is too much change for week one. Nice and easy, we’re going to be successful this week with one goal (which is very possibly the most challenging on the list for this girl.)
C’mon, Jenny… it’s me and you this week! Let’s do this!
