Saturday morning after enjoying my DELICIOUS Jaede juice, I headed to La Vergne to visit with my friend Jen. You might remember Jen and her fabulous picnic wedding that I shared with you last year…
Jen and I have been close for years and years… I even lived with her for about a year and a half (PS: She’s a total trooper for putting up with me during that year and a half!)
One of the hardest things about living halfway across the country from those you love is that you miss out on some important moments. While I made it in for the Picnic Wedding, I missed out on the Reveal Party and on Illyana’s birth! Having seen pics of the little munchkin over the past 6 months, I got to the point where I couldn’t wait any longer to meet her!
I’m pretty sure we’re BFF now.
From what I can tell… we have yoga in common.
We both love carrots (especially when they’re mashed up like in pot roast or just steamed and mashed)
We both think her mom is SO funny!
We both have a LOT to say.
And, we both love spending time talking to her mommy.
We only got to spend a few hours together… but I’m so appreciative that we had that time. I always say, some time is better than no time… and that definitely applies to this visit.
After my visit with Jen and Illyana, I headed back to Jaede’s house for some more girl time and cocktails. Little E didn’t know what was going on with all the mixing in the kitchen. Just the same, she stayed for girl time and loved every minute of it! For being such a trooper, we mixed her some magical milk that she LOVED!
In tomorrow’s post, I’ll share THREE fun drinks we made that night. You’re going to want to see these… FABULOUS! Here’s a little sneak peek at our ingredients…
I wrapped up my trip with a visit with Angela and Jamie. You probably remember these two from my fabulous Vegas wedding weekend last month. Angela invited me over for lunch before my flight, and we actually ate lunch OUTSIDE on their patio!!! For those of you in the South, you know what a treat it is to be able to spend time outdoors at lunch in August. It just doesn’t happen! We took advantage of it fully and enjoyed homemade gazpacho and mojitos. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the gazpacho since I left Tennessee… and will be making some tonight.
Angela and I took ZERO pictures during our visit… we were too busy chatting, I guess. Good news is that I’ll be back in Tennessee again in exactly a month… so, we’ll take some then!
Overall, it was an amazing visit. I’m so glad I got to meet Illyana and spend time with a few others. Not bad work for 36 hours, if you ask me!
