It’s been a long time since I gave you guys a dose of randomness on a Friday…
ONE
I leave for Nashville this afternoon! There’s a certain beautiful little 6-month old that I’m heading to visit… along with her fabulous 30-something momma. So excited to meet little I this weekend. Stay tuned for a recap on Monday. Meeting baby trumps weigh-in, so there won’t be a weigh-in story until next week
TWO
While I’m in Nashville this weekend, I am going to try some JUICE. The juicing craze continues to take over, and I’m finding out more and more people are taking part in this trendy veg-through-a-straw approach. I’m staying with my friend Jaede who has recently become a juicer, and lost SIX pounds last month doing so. That’s more than I’ve lost! I can’t wait to try my first sip.

I got a new smartphone a few weeks back and I love it. If you’re in the market for a new device, I highly recommend the Samsung Galaxy S3. Isn’t it gorgeous?
The ONLY drawback I’ve identified is that the sounds it makes are too soothing. Now, keep in mind… this is also something I LOVE about the device. With ringtones like “sea breeze”, “blowing dandelion seeds” and “desert sunrise,” I feel like I have my own little zen-phone. The challenge comes at 5am when my alarm goes off… and I don’t even remotely move. Sigh, I need to download a ringtone to get me out of bed. Open to suggestions… bring it!
FOUR
On Wednesday night, the purple potatoes on the counter were calling my name. They were part of the $10 bag of veggies I bought at the farmer’s market a few weeks ago. Well, I decided to finally eat them… and look how gorgeous they were when I cut into them. Recipe to follow next week, but I couldn’t resist showing you a pic. Could they possibly have tasted better just because they were purple? I think so…
FIVE
My boss has started wearing a Fitbit . One word: HILARIOUS. As we know, I rock my Fitbit every day and advocate for the brand…. But this guy is a walking billboard for Fitbit . He checks in with me multiple times a day to find out how many steps I have. On most days, my numbers are embarrassing since I’m sitting at the desk pounding away on projects as opposed to pounding the pavement in any way. Fitbit has released several articles via FB recently sharing that just wearing the device increases steps… and it’s true. I’ve witnessed it EVERY day for the week and a half. It’s also motivating when your co-workers start getting into it as well… there’s got to be an article on that too somewhere.
Alright, it’s time to pack and get this show on the road. Nashville… I’ll see you this evening. I’ll be the girl sweating profusely and longing for the humidity-free West. xoxo
