Quick Reminder: Have you entered the NTTC giveaway I launched yesterday? Click here for details on how you can win an awesome lean beef cookbook and apron from my friends at @BEEFforDinner!
You guys know that I like to shop… and that I like to cook… and that I like to eat. I’ve been doing a lot of those three things lately, and I’ve come across so many new things I couldn’t resist sharing!
Special K Pastry Crisps – Brown Sugar Cinnamon Flavor
Holy freakin’ wow! These are AMAZING!!!! Sara had mentioned in response to Monday’s post that I needed to try these Special K Pastry Crisps … and OMG, she was so right! They taste like light, flaky Pop Tarts and they’re only 100 calories. I could not believe how good these were! Yum-O!
Jenny Craig Cranberry Almond Barscotti
My JCC Amalia has been talking about the barscotti for a while. I kind of thought she meant “biscotti”… oh no, she meant barscotti. This is a chewy, yummy breakfast bar that has a really good almondy flavor and it’s (wait for it) topped with STREUSEL. I thought it was REALLY good… and really enjoyable with a cup of coffee. Can’t wait to get more! Jenny – I wonder if these are temporary? Let’s hope not….
Cocktail Cucumbers
Have you seen these yet? They’re TINY cucumbers that you can eat whole… they’re like the size of a smaller pickle and SO GOOD. I picked these up at Costco yesterday… and ate a TON of them already! Can’t wait to buy more! PS.. They’re VERY dippable too! Great with a tasty veggie dip like this one!
Alpine Avocado Vinaigrette
When I was at Whole Foods last weekend, I had a chance to sample this AMAZING vinaigrette! It’s so fresh and so delicious… and it’s made right here in Colorado with fresh ingredients! Click here to read the story about Alpine Avocado Vinaigrette and to order some to try yourself!
Food For Life Sprouted Bread
I’ve read on Ashley and Lauren‘s blogs about Ezekiel bread and have been so tempted to try it out. I am quite the bread lover, so I thought I’d give it a shot. I found this Food for Life 7 Sprouted Grains bread in the frozen foods section, and have enjoyed trying it. I’ve used it to add a slice of garlic bread to a pasta meal or to create a veggie sandwich. It’s really good, and definitely something to check out! Tip: I keep it in the freezer and thaw one slice at a time to avoid over-indulging…
Lauren Conrad Earrings
Ok, so I’m going to sneak a few fun non-food items in too… I just LOVE these earrings. They’re from Kohl’s (REALLY!?) from the Lauren Conrad collection. They looks great with rose gold and are super sparkly. Kohl’s always is running a sale… so you can pick them up fairly cheap! Watch out though… LC has a lot of cute jewelry! You may end up with more than just this pair…
Conair Ceramic Hairdryer
My hairdryer decided to give out about a week ago… on a day when I needed it no less. So, I ran to Target to get its replacement and found this fabulous dryer from Conair. Why do I like it? It air blows from it sort of gently… and it seems like a much more expensive dryer than it is. Also, the cord retracts into the handle, which is always a bonus. Total upgrade on the hairdryer… for the price of a regular one!
Pier One Holiday Napkins
I got these super-cute napkins from my friend Donna, and I think I’m going to have to bust them out this weekend. She picked them up at Pier One who always seems to have cute holiday stuff! Halloween is just around the corner, and where better to use such cute napkins than a Wine and Cheese Game night? (Alecia and Deb – You get to use these! Get excited!)
Have you come across anything new that you want to share with the NTTC readers? Anything we should try??

I have the same blow dryer! I love it! I tend to stick to tried and true items and get my suggested food adventures from blogs, such as yours, and I hope they sell those Special K snacks in Canada and if not I will try them when I am in US as I frequent your beautiful country quite often. I love Kohls and was in one for the first time in Myrtle Beach while on holiday and loved the JLO clothing line as the designs are quite flattering for the pear shaped body like mine. One item I have created lately that I really enjoy and is a super calorie wise dessert is to cut a pear in half, scope out the stem and pit section with a melon baller, place it in a microwaveable dish, drizzle with 1 tsp of maple syrup and a splash of vanilla extract, shake a pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg on top microwave for 3 mins and then finish it off with a pinch of granola and you have a warm delish dessert that is like a crumble with less work to create and less calories!
I can’t wait to see you Saturday and enjoy a beverage with the cute cocktail napkins!
I hope the cute napkins were just as much fun as we thought they would be! Although, I have quite a stack remaining… we may need to go on an international market run and make some pho soon.
I love Nora Fleming ( http://norafleming.com/) serving pieces! It is a super cute thing to collect if you entertain and what a great wedding/shower/housewarming gift, anyway – she came out with some new minis (the platters have small holes so you can change out a mini ceramic piece for the season or party theme) my new favorite is a black pump. I just got mine and can’t wait to host a girl’s night so I can use it!! My other favorites include the fall pumpkin and gourd minis for my annual Souper Supper on Thanksgiving Eve – check them out, such a cute idea!
I’m so glad you love the Special K treats! The package clearly warns against warming them in the microwave or toaster, but I think 5 seconds in the microwave might make them even more amazing!
I will tell you… I think they’re a WEE bit dangerous for me, since I like to overindulge in snacks. I’ve introduced them to a co-worker who seems to be equally hooked. I honestly think they’re BETTER than Pop Tarts… but that’s just me. Thanks for the introduction!!!
