The latest craze on Instagram is MOST DEFINITELY two-ingredient dough. And, while I’m not a fan of Greek yogurt, I took the bait and tried it. I haven’t stopped creating with it ever since.
What is two ingredient dough? It’s a simple combination of 1 part fat free Greek yogurt, and 1 part self-rising flour. From there, it can be made into a MILLION different things (very evident if you follow the #twoingredientdough hashtag on instagram.) While these pigs in a blanket are my first recipe I’m sharing using the dough, it certainly won’t be the last.
Ok, this recipe couldn’t be simpler. It comes together as an easy lunch, and I’ve gone through a package of hot dogs already making them! BTW…why are hot dogs sold in an uneven number? That doesn’t really work for me, folks. 😉
If you’re looking for an air fryer, here’s a link to the one that I use. I use it nearly every day!
Two Ingredient Dough: Pigs in a Blanket
Inspired by @WWPoundDropper on Instagram
Serves 1
INGREDIENTS
1/4 cup fat free Greek yogurt
1/4 cup self-rising flour
1/8 tsp. poppy seeds, optional
2 97% fat free hot dogs
cooking spray
1 Tbsp. reduced sugar ketchup
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
2. In a small bowl, combine the flour and yogurt until a soft dough is created. Knead the dough, adding extra flour if sticky.
3. Divide the dough into halves, and roll each piece into a long string about 8 inches long (or long enough to wrap around your hot dogs.) Sprinkle with poppy seeds, if desired, and place on a baking sheet prepared with cooking spray. Note: I just roll them in my hands, using my best play dough skills from days past.
4. Wrap your hotdog in the dough and replace on the sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 20-22 minutes until the dough is cooked through and the “blankets” are golden brown. Note: You can also use your air fryer, cooking your dogs at 350 for 11 minutes.
5. Serve with reduced sugar ketchup (or mustard, if that’s your thing) and enjoy!
