If you follow me on Instagram or you’ve read any of my posts for the past few weeks, you can probably tell: I’m back on track.
Spring has certainly SPRUNG here in Colorado. The warmer weather (it was 81 yesterday!!!) and the longer days… I’m inspired to get back in shape once and for all!
So… what have I been doing? I’ve been eating 100% on track with Jenny Craig and LOVING it. Yep, plain and simple, I’ve been eating what I’m supposed to eat, nothing more and nothing less. So often when I recommit myself to the program, I eat what I’m supposed to… except when I don’t. Does this sound familiar?
Typically, I’ll jump back on track and I’ll eat five of seven meals on track… but those extra two meals are dining out, visiting with friends, or otherwise off track. What happens: It’s enough to help me maintain my weight or have a super-slow trickle of a weight loss. This slow-as-molasses strategy fills my head with ideas of quitting, of drinking extra wine because I’m not losing weight anyway… and next think you know, I’m off track completely. It’s a vicious cycle.
Right now, I’m feeling SUPER motivated and ready to take on the world, which feels great. I thought I’d share a few things today that are making this process fun for me. Real talk: If it’s not fun, I quit. So, let’s focus on the fun!
WEEK ONE WEIGHT LOSS
Week one is always the best when you’re getting back on track. It’s the week you tend to lose the most, and the week you show yourself that YOU CAN DO THIS!!
This week was an awesome week one (as you can see) and has me focused on what I need to do to continue to move those numbers in a positive direction!
JICAMA
Yep, I just led the fun list with a veggie. I’ve found jicama, y’all! I bought two last week to try and I’ve since bought two more! I can’t stop…
What am I doing with jicama? I’ve done some REALLY creative things over the past week that I’ll share on the blog soon… but this crunchy vegetable is delicious in salads and slaws. Awesome as a vehicle for salsa (replacing chips!) and is fun to say.
One of my co-workers explained that he slices it (think thick fries) and drizzles with lime, chili powder, and salt. Yep, I’m trying that this week…
CHANGING IT UP… EVERYDAY
I’ve been posting new Jenny Craig recipes like crazy, and it’s not a coincidence! Making something delicious daily + plating my meals in a beautiful way keeps me on track and makes me feel like I’m not sacrificing anything being on this plan. Honestly, I don’t feel like I’m missing ANYTHING! Here’s a sneak peek at what’s coming to the blog on Wednesday and an example of my many creations!

REVIEWING WHERE I’VE BEEN
I spent some time this weekend reviewing my weight over the past several years. I’ve really been in a maintenance phase for a while. There was definitely a gradual spike in weight over the past several years since my car accident, much due to the physical limitations I had for the months that followed.
I also looked back at the pictures that are my goal pics (example: red pants above.) When I looked at how much I weighed when the pictures were taken, I was motivated to see that my weight wasn’t my smallest but a very happy weight. One that I could certainly live with. Bottom line: My goal feels very attainable and very reasonable!
SHARING MORE!
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that I’m sharing more now that I’m feeling better about this process and feeling motivated. Believe it or not, you don’t have a ton to share as a weight loss blogger… when you’re not losing weight.
I’ve started sharing more on Instagram about the process, and sharing my first batch of Instastories! If you’re not following me over there, I’d definitely welcome you to join us!
WORKOUTS BEGIN THIS WEEK
My first goal was to get in line from a food perspective. Next, I’m going to start sweating more. I’m heading to the desert over the weekend, which is always tempting from a food perspective. It’s also a great time to focus on fitness and the facilities are beautiful and my travel buddy loves to start the day with a workout. I also found a cute new top at a consignment yoga boutique here in Denver! Who knew that there was CONSIGNMENT workout clothes??? I love it!
That’s my list for this week… as I find new bits of inspiration, I’ll share those too! Onward, y’all! xoxo
