I hate to even say it, but I haven’t loved September. After an amazing summer, it was a bit of a buzzkill, with a few glimmers of fun. The good news: We get to start over with a brand-new month in just a few days!
Let’s talk about the fun parts of the month. I’d rather focus there, anyway. 🙂
I read a book this month! It’s no surprise that it’s from Elin Hildebrand. She is legitmately my favorite author. I definitely recommend her work.
I finally read her latest book: The Rumor. Friends, romance, Nantucket, and beautiful gardens… It was an amazing getaway!
Do you ever hear a song and it literally makes you feel like dancing? This song is that for me right now…. #Love
CURRENT FASHION PICKS:
Fall is HERE, and while I’m trying to wear all my summer faves one more time before it gets too cold… I’m also started to dabble in some fall looks.
Here’s a few I’m loving so far…
Top: La Posh Style
I pretty much drink water only… with the occasional Diet Soda. Yes, I recognize that is not the best healthy choice for me.
This month, I tried to transition away from Diet Coke and to Zevia. True story: I did not succeed. I may try again in upcoming weeks… but my heart just wasn’t in it. And, I fell off the wagon.
I don’t believe I’m addicted to Diet Coke, moreso… I just like how it pairs with Subway and I like a cold bubbly beverage in the morning. And, since champagne before 7am is frowned upon, I’m going to stick to Diet Coke for now… I’ll keep you posted when I try to tackle it again.
I found this bar near the checkout at Sprouts recently, and the black olives pulled me in. I’d never tried a Savory Bar either… and wow. I can’t wait to try more of the savory flavors from Mediterra.
CURRENT NAIL COLOR:
I’ve been bitten by the fall bug, and started wearing a darker polish last week. I love Essie’s Carry On. I plan on finding a lip color that’s in this family of colors… Stay tuned!
CURRENT SERENDIPITOUS MOMENT:
I went to dinner on Saturday with Meagan, one of my lovely sorority sisters from college, who was visiting Colorado for about 36 hours and reached out to meet up. I took her to one of my favorite spots in Denver – Osteria Marco – on Larimar Square. We dined outside and just had a blast catching up.
So, I had a beautiful pizza… and packed up the leftovers to take home. Before we left the table, I reconsidered my decision, removing all but two pieces from the box so that I didn’t have a ton of pizza with me. Because realistically, I never need five pieces of leftover pizza. And, in my heart of hearts, I knew that I didn’t need those two pieces either… but I couldn’t say no. It was that good!
Here’s where it gets crazy: I set down the pizza while we took that selfie above… and guess who left their pizza in a chair on the square? Me! It’s like I didn’t need that pizza at all… and the universe intervened. I love it when that happens.
CURRENT HAIR COLOR:
My current hair color is a super-blonde (for me) ombre look, but starting tomorrow… I will be more this color. I can’t wait!
CURRENT HAIR FIND:
Speaking of hair, I found THE BEST dry shampoo, and I have to tell you about it.
Big Sexy Hair makes this Volumizing Dry Shampoo, and it is amazing! My stylist Meggan told me about it… and it was quickly my favorite. I have very fine hair, and I like volume. I usually do quite a bit of teasing, but a little teasing + this product = awesome volume! Smells good too!
I don’t even know where I heard about this movie. It never released in the theaters, and went right to iTunes.
What I do know is that I love this movie. It is about people and about people connecting. The main characters meet in a random way and get to know each other because the Chris Evans character offers to help a lady in distress. If you’re a fan of Before Sunrise / Before Sunset / Before Midnight like I am, you’re going to LOVE this movie. Watch it!
My friend Shane is an incredible photographer and he captures images of Colorado like no one else I know, including this picture below.
