Being back on plan has been surprisingly refreshing. We all know that our body operates at a higher level when it is getting what it needs. That’s what I’ve seen this week. I’ve been more rested, more happy, and best of all….
I’ve Lost Weight!
Saturday morning, I got up and went to my newly scheduled JC weigh in appointment. Over the first 5 days, I lost -2.4 lbs! Woo hoo! Now, these are the pounds that I had re-gained, so it got me back to where I was back in January. Regardless, I’ll take those 2.4 lbs!
I also had a great consultation with my new Jenny Craig Consultant. She’s high-energy, knowledgeable, and so tremendously supportive. All the things we need in a consultant. I’m so glad she’s there!
In addition to weighing in at my local Jenny Craig, I’ve also added a new tool to my repertoire.
A few weeks back, I ordered the Aria scale by Fitbit. It’s been sitting on my dining room table, but now it’s fired up and ready to go! It’s quite a bit more advanced than the scale I’ve been using for a while. Not only does it track weight, but it tracks a whole lot more and wirelessly updates to Fitbit.com.
You have to log onto your computer and to the Fitbit website to get everything all set up. The great news is that the scale and your computer work to get the device quickly set up on your home wireless with just a few menu clicks. EASY PEASY!
After the wireless is all set up, the device begins to reveal itself to you… show you how it works, show you all the bells and whistles.
Then, it’s weigh in time. You have to weigh as part of your setup. When you do, that begins your starting weight.
The great news is that when I set up the scale last week, I had 16.9 left to lose, but now I only have 14.7 left to go! That’s less than 15 lbs! So excited!
I’ll be honest with you guys, I’ve been on that scale like crazy. It’s just so fun to weigh on. It also is telling me stats that I never have reviewed before. Example: Body Fat percentage.
My body fat is coming it at about 37%. Wow. Really? Almost 40% of my body is fat. I’ve done a bit of research in regard to body fat, and I’ve found that “body fat % shows how much weight is adipose fat, and tells you more about your body’s composition. Studies have shown that this is an important measure for general health. ” (Source: Fitbit.com)
Here’s how the numbers breakdown per the experts. I’m showing in the Obese category, which is not my favorite but I suppose everyone has to start somewhere. My goal is to get into that acceptable range ASAP. It’s time to BURN some fat!
One thing I wish I had was a BEFORE body fat percentage. It had to be MUCH higher than I am now, especially considering the change I’ve seen in BMI and weight.
I’m hoping that this Saturday shows yet another loss. I’ll keep you posted on how it goes.
Question: Do you know your body fat percentage? Is this something that you track?
