Everyone is a fanatic for SOMETHING.. today in the blogosphere, it seems to be all about the Hunger Games. Gretchen, for example, has been posting for weeks about the books, the movie, and even has shared Hunger Games make-up tips. Now, I’m only a few chapters into the first book… so that’s certainly not my obsession quite yet.
Anyone who reads this blog has picked up on the fact that I’m a HUGE Kelly Clarkson fan. When I heard that she was coming to Denver, it took me about 2 seconds to decide to buy tickets.
I’ve seen her once before in concert in Nashville at the Ryman auditorium. There’s nothing like hearing live music in Nashville…. especially at the “church of country music.”
Kelly was fantastic at the Ryman… and I sang my heart out with my friend Angela to all of our KC favorites.
This week’s show was at a small venue just outside of Denver. The 1st Bank Center proved to be a great place to see a show as well… not quite the Ryman, but it was super close to where I live.
Jenn and I had gone for a hike in the morning and then laid around all afternoon. Eventually, we got dressed up in our concert best to head over to the show.
It always seems like black is the right answer to any wardrobe question, and I decided to wear my black boots too. Knowing fully that I would be standing/dancing the whole time… I wasn’t sure that this was the best idea. I had so much fun I didn’t even NOTICE my feet.
When we got to the 1st Bank Center… we found out that Matt Nathanson was opening for Kelly. I had never heard of him by name, but I definitely recognized a few of his songs. He was adorable and comedic in his opening act.
While I enjoyed his show, I was definitely ready for the main act. Let me assure you, Kelly didn’t disappoint. She sang all my favorite songs + a few more.
It’s funny to be at a concert where your workout playlist is live… because you get VERY energized and ready to run!
I wish I could have recorded the whole concert (it was that good.) I did catch a few clips on my iPhone though. Here’s a clip I picked up on YouTube that was one of my favorite moments. Acoustic Never Again… slowed down and just beautiful. Enjoy!
When the concert was over, I was sad. I could have used one or two more songs… and she didn’t do an encore. Hmmpf! Just the same, we scooted out of there and sat in concert traffic for a while.
We didn’t have dinner before the concert, and Jenn had wanted to go to Denny’s after. Um… Denny’s is this girl’s nightmare restaurant. OR SO I THOUGHT!
I ended up ordering a VERY delicious and VERY healthy meal. WHO KNEW??
I ordered the Chicken and Avocado Sandwich off of their Fit Fare menu, but I mixed it up. I asked for buffalo sauce instead of the avocado, sour cream, and pico. I also requested the cut veggies not include celery for me. So delish! I actually ordered an additional side of veggies I loved them so much.
I seriously can’t wait for my next concert… specifically my next KC concert. What was the last concert you saw? Who are you hoping to see this year?
